Bjorn Field

Bjorn Field (he/him), also known as Baron Wormwood, has lived in the northwest Missouri area his entire life. Growing up in a region that is often unsupportive of the LGBTQ+ community inspired him to create a safe and welcoming environment, no matter how small. His determination to foster a supportive community stems from his own challenges when coming out as a transgender man, an experience that left him resolute in his mission to help others avoid similar or worse struggles.

Currently, Bjorn is a full-time student and an aspiring drag king. When managing the social media for the St. Joe Pride Board, he is involved with updating, posting, and responding to questions on their social media platforms. He is focused on maintaining clear communication and a friendly disposition to make a positive impact. Within the St. Joe Pride Board, Bjorn aims to keep their social media active, engaging, and informative, ultimately fostering a more inclusive environment.

Bjorn is particularly proud of his drag career and the following he has gained from it. As a drag king, he has inspired hundreds of individuals through his art, receiving heartfelt messages from people who feel seen and supported. Outside his professional and community work, Bjorn is a cosplayer, goth, and a huge movie fanatic, especially horror films. He also enjoys collecting physical media. He strives to spend most of his time off social media, although his drag career often requires an online presence. Furthermore, he uses his platform to advocate for various causes and promote the organization's events.

Bjorn's friends and family, many of whom are part of the LGBTQ+ community, inspire his advocacy work. He hopes his efforts bring safety, comfort, and justice to those closest to him. He envisions a world where people can live true to themselves without fear of rejection or harassment. Through his work with the St. Joe Pride Board, Bjorn aims to show that there is support within the community and hopes St. Joe will flourish into a safe, welcoming place for the LGBTQ+ community.
